At least they somewhat had different hobbies. It felt like I was reading the same character whenever I was reading from the other’s point-of-view. Both were miserable with their lives, racists against white people, went to the same school, worked for their parents, and created plans to save their parent’s shops for selfish means. Theo Mori and Gabi Moreno were too similar. Sometimes bitter rivalries can brew something sweet, but this supposedly delectable rom-com with zest and sprinkles actually turned out to be a sour read. Readers can surely expect to find food puns, soccer, enemies-to-lovers romance, bakeries and restaurants, high school melodrama, dance, closeted homosexuality, ADHD and Asian-American and Puerto Rican representation within these pages.
